Kolkata upbeat about Lynn injury
Hopes raised Lynn may return during IPL season after scans reveal damage to left shoulder 'not as bad as we thought'
Big-hitting batsman Chris Lynn's shoulder injury may not be as bad as first feared and he could yet still feature in the current IPL season.
Lynn injured his left shoulder diving in the outfield during the Kolkata Knight Riders' four-wicket defeat to the Mumbai Indians last week.
There were fears the latest shoulder setback could derail his IPL season. But Lynn is understood to be remaining with the franchise in India and KKR coach Jaques Kallis said MRI scans had revealed the prognosis was better than expected.
"He has gone for his scan. It's not as bad as we thought," Kallis told reporters at Eden Gardens ahead of the Knight Riders' clash with King's XI Punjab.
"Our medical staff is working overtime to see how quickly we can get him ready and if we can get him ready.
"There is a good chance we will play a role for us this season."
The former South Africa allrounder said despite the positive scan results, there was no timeframe for Lynn's return.
"It's still too early to assess. We are not going to rush him," Kallis said.
"When he feels he is ready to play, the medical staff will qualify when there is a possibility of him playing, we will certainly play him when we can."
The news is a boost for Australia's Champions Trophy hopes, with Lynn's explosive hitting potential making him a near-certain squad selection for the mid-year tournament in the UK.
Lynn has an unfortunate history of shoulder problems that continued with the injury against Mumbai.
Lynn had missed the first half of the 2016-17 season after dislocating the same shoulder in Sri Lanka last year, while his recent KFC Big Bash League campaign was cut short due to a neck problem. He also missed the 2015 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup after dislocating his left shoulder.
He had surgery on the same shoulder in the winter of 2014, forcing him to miss the start of the 2014-15 season.
Lynn lamented his injury woes on social media after the match.

Gautam Gambhir After this Loose Against Mumbai Indians
:( :(
Gambhir: The last three overs we put a good score on the board and 179 was defendable. Hardik played an unbelievable innings and so did Nitish. But had we taken the catch, things would have been different. We do back our bowlers to do the job; Trent (Boult) and Chris (Woakes) are experienced campaigners. Anything would have happened if we had taken the catch or had Surya stopped the four. It is a good chasing ground and there was dew around. The spinners were finding it difficult to grip the ball, but we could have won it had it not been for the last three overs. I still do not have any update on Lynn's injury.
The execution from KKR wasn't quite there at the death. They bowled too many full tosses while aiming for the yorker. Maybe dew kicked in to play a role as well. Wankhede is generally a hard ground to defend. But whatever the case, they had this won. This result will hurt.

Please Welcome Nathan Coulter-Nile in KolKata Knight Riders
Nathan Mitchell Coulter-Nile (born 11 October 1987) is an Australian cricketer who has played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Australian national side. Domestically, he is contracted to Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers as well as the Kolkata Knight Riders, having also previously played for the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
From Perth, Western Australia, Coulter-Nile attended Aquinas College, and represented the state under-17 and under-19 teams, later going on to play three youth ODI matches for the Australian national under-19 team. Having held a rookie contract from the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for several seasons, he made his debut at state level during the 2009–10 season, and has since become a regular selection in Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers' fast bowling attacks. Coulter-Nile made his Twenty20 International debut for the Australian national cricket team in February 2013, and his ODI debut in September 2013.
Coulter-Nile was born in Perth, Western Australia, on 11 October 1987. He is the eldest of three children, and has two younger sisters.[2] He was educated at Aquinas College.[3] He played in state representative teams from an early age, representing Western Australia at both under-17 and under-19 level.[4] At the 2003–04 National Under-17 Championships, Coulter-Nile took four wickets from five matches, although he scored only 19 runs from his five innings during the tournament.[5][6] Two seasons later, at the 2005–06 National Under-19 Championships (held in Perth), he took eight wickets at an average of 24.50 from his six matches.[7] In grade cricket, Coulter-Nile made his third-grade for the Fremantle District Cricket Club during the 2003–04 season, aged 16.[8] He made his first-grade debut the following season, and took 18 wickets at an average of 25.72 from his ten first-grade matches. This included figures of 5/56 against Joondalup, his first five-wicket haul in the competition. A member of the Dennis Lillee Fast Bowling Academy, Coulter-Nile was selected to appear for the Australian national under-19 team in three under-19 One Day International (ODI) matches against the Pakistan under-19s in April 2007, at the end of the 2006–07 season. This followed on from a season for Fremantle in which he took 30 wickets, as well as appearing in a single Cricket Australia Cup match for the state second XI team.
Following on from his form for Western Australia during the 2011–12 season, Coulter-Nile played two first-class matches for Australia A during the team's 2012 tour of England.[36] Although he had been called up for the tour after James Pattinson withdrew due to an abdominal strain,[37] he played a further match for Australia A in November 2012, against the touring South Africans.[38] After good form in all three formats of the game during the 2012–13 season, Coulter-Nile began to be seriously considered to play for Australia. Following on from his nine-wicket Sheffield Shield performance against Queensland in February 2013, two former internationals—Mike Hussey and Shane Warne—both nominated him as a potential debutant during the ODI and T20I series held towards the end of that season.[39][40]Coulter-Nile was selected to make his international debut in a T20I against the West Indies later that month.[41] On debut, he took 1/36 from four overs while bowling, and scored 16 not out from 11 balls while batting, including two sixes.[42]
In May 2013, Coulter-Nile was named in Australia's 15-man squad for the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, to be held in England and Wales in June 2013.[43] He played no matches during the tournament, but was selected to tour both India and South Africa with Australia A in the middle of the year. This included a one-day tri-series involving Australia A, India A, and South Africa A, in which Coulter-Nile scoring 104 runs and took two three-wicket hauls in four matches.[44][45] In one match against South Africa A, he scored 62 runs, which included a partnership of 133 runs for the seventh wicket with Shaun Marsh (136*), and helped Australia A win the match by three wickets.[46] Based on this form, Coulter-Nile was selected in Australia's 18-man senior squad for the ODI and Twenty20 International portions of Australia's 2013 tour of England.[47] In late August, he played his second T20I match.[48] With Australia losing by 27 runs, he failed to take wicket, conceding 47 runs from four overs, but scored 13 runs from six balls while batting, including two sixes.[49]
Gambhir About Rovman Powell
Gambhir about Rovman Pawell
"We will miss Andre Russell this season, no doubt. Russell had a great contribution to several victories of KKR in the past. But at the same time, I am requesting you guys to keep eyes on another young West Indian lad. His name is Rovman Powell. He is only 23-years-old. He is an all-rounder, can bat in the middle order as well as he can bowl fast. I was really thrilled to have watched his batting and bowling video. I believe Powel has the ability to fulfil the absence of Russell.”

Please Welcome Darren Bravo in KKR
INTRODUCING DARREN BRAVO IN KKR
As opposed to his half-brother Dwayne, Darren Bravo is a left handed batsman whose batting style has drawn comparisons with the legendary Brian Lara. Also an occasional wicket-keeper, he made his first-class and list A debuts for Trinidad and Tobago in 2007, before he found a place in the West Indies Under-19 team in 2008.
In the Year 2017 he will play for KolKata Knight Riders in IPL10.
Kolkata Knight Riders Full Team of IPL 10
The team has got a pretty well balanced squad, which didn’t succumb to injuries that often. The lads were being led by Gautam Gambhir on the field, while their former batsman Jacques Kallis coached the boys. Gambhir’s role as a skipper and batsman is certainly commendable, given that he played a crucial part in team’s journey to the playoffs.
In the recently concluded auctions, the team has managed to rope in Trent Boult, Chris Woakes, Darren Bravo. The acquisitions are expected to lend the team balance. Talking about the prospects, Trent Boult is a great bowler and will be keen to prove his credentials in the IPL. Chris Woakes is a promising and talented all-rounder and his abilities to contribute with both bat and ball will be much needed. Darren bravo, the classy left-hand batsman from West Indies is also an aggressive player who likes to dominate and his addition will enable the team to experiment with the squad in terms of batting order.

Ravichandan Ashwin Can't Play IPL 10
India and Rising Pune Super Giants (RPS) star Ravichandran Ashwin is set to miss the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) owing to sports hernia.
Ashwin, who had undergone scans in Mumbai following the four-match Test series against Australia, is likely to be ruled out for six-eight weeks.
The all-rounder, however, is expected to be back for the ICC Champions Trophy in the summer. Sports hernia is a strain or tear of any soft tissue in the lower abdomen or groin area.
The development will come as a major blow to RPS, who will be aiming for the title after a disappointing debut season in 2016.
Ashwin has been in a prolific run of form with the ball in recent months, playing a key role in India’s home Test season, where the Virat Kohli-led side won 10 of their 13 matches.
The 30-year-old off-spinner has had an unprecedented workload during the season that featured matches against New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia.
During the period, Ashwin bowled 738.2 overs - the most ever by a bowler in a Test season - and picked up a record 82 wickets. The duo of Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja claimed 153 wickets at an average of 24.14 to become the most successful bowling pair in a season.
Ashwin first got injured immediately after the Test series against England in December. He soon withdrew from Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy semi-final clash against Karnataka.
In fact, in the first Test of the season, against New Zealand at Kanpur in September last year, Ashwin had bowled despite the pain due to a corn in his middle finger.
Ashwin’s India teammate KL Rahul is also reported to likely miss the tournament, while Murali Vijay’s participation also is rumoured to be doubtful.
On the other hand, India skipper Virat Kohli will miss the initial phase of the tournament due to his shoulder injury, and as per a report in Wisden India, Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav will join him on the sidelines for the first few weeks.

Juminy withdraw His Name from IPL 10
JP Duminy, who has been a key player in the Delhi Daredevils team since 2014, has withdrawn from the 2017 Indian Premier League due to “personal reasons.”
In a statement released by the Delhi Daredevils franchise, JP Duminy said that it was a very difficult decision to take. “I’m grateful for the support and understanding from the franchise. It has been an absolute privilege to have played for and led a talented mix of players. I certainly hope to play a part for the franchise in the near future.”
Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua said that it was disappointing to lose JP Duminy, adding that a replacement has not been named yet.
“We respect JP’s decision. As a franchise we clearly understand his position. At this stage we can only confirm that we will look for a replacement at an appropriate time,” Dua said.
Duminy has undergone a slump in form in 2017. In the series against Sri Lanka, played in South Africa in 2016/17, Duminy struggled in the limited-overs format. After a stellar Test series in which he smashed 254 runs, including a knock of 155, he managed just 69 runs in five ODIs at an average of 23.
In the current series against New Zealand, the left-hander has struggled across all formats. He scored 29 in the T20I in Auckland but in the ODI series, he had a lean run in which he managed scores of just 1,34,16,25 and 3. Although South Africa won both the T20I and the ODI series against New Zealand, Duminy’s form has been of concern.
In the two Tests so far, he has scored just 1,39, 16 and 15* though he picked up 4/47 in the Wellington Test which South Africa won by eight wickets.
Duminy has endured mixed fortunes during his time at the franchise since 2014. In his first year, Duminy shone through with 410 runs at an average of 51.25 but the team endured a horrible time as they landed up with the wodden spoon with just two wins out of 14.
In 2015, Duminy was selected to lead the side but his team continued to perform poorly as they managed only a seventh-place finish but the South African left-hander once again put in a good performance with 414 runs at an average of 41. In 2016, Zaheer Khan led the team and Delhi Daredevils finished sixth after a decent showing. Duminy managed 191 runs in 10 games at an average of just 38.
The 2017 IPL will take start from April 5 and Delhi Daredevils will play their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8 at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.

Gautam Gambhir
Leader of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir is one of the mainstays of the KKR batting unit. A big-match player with rich international experience, Gambhir brings a lot to the table when it comes to batting skills and leading from the front. Having played for Delhi Daredevils in the first three seasons, Gambhir was snapped up by KKR at the 2011 IPL Player Auction for a record-smashing USD 2.5 million. He vindicated their decision when he captained KKR to their first top-four finish in IPL 2011 and then led them to the IPL title in 2012. Ahead of the 2014 Player Auction, Gambhir was retained by the Kolkata franchise as the captain of the team. A lot of the side’s fortunes depend on the way this left-hander bats and marshals his troops. KKR have won two IPL titles under his captaincy - in 2012 and 2014.
